Ethiopian Airlines Expands to Daily Flights from Manchester Airport Starting July 2025

Ethiopian Airlines is set to increase its Manchester to Addis Ababa service to daily flights from July 3, 2025, up from the current five flights per week. This expansion will provide greater travel options and improved connectivity for passengers flying across Africa.

As Africa’s largest airline and one of the world’s fastest-growing airline brands, Ethiopian Airlines plays a vital role in connecting the North of England to Ethiopia, one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, as well as key destinations across Africa. Passengers can continue their journeys seamlessly to Seychelles, Nairobi, Harare, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lusaka, and many more cities.

Increased Convenience & Connectivity

Anteneh Fekadu, Ethiopian Airlines’ Traffic & Sales Manager in Manchester, commented:

“We are thrilled to increase our Manchester flights to daily from July 3, 2025. This enhanced schedule reaffirms our commitment to providing passengers with more travel and connectivity options. We look forward to welcoming more travellers on board and delivering the exceptional service Ethiopian Airlines is known for.”

More than 35,000 passengers fly from Manchester to destinations across Africa with Ethiopian Airlines annually. In 2024 alone:
✈️ 5,000 passengers travelled to Zimbabwe
✈️ 4,000 passengers flew to South Africa
✈️ 3,000 passengers connected to Kenya
All journeys included a seamless connection in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airlines’ hub.

A Major Boost for Manchester Airport

Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, welcomed the expansion:

“We are proud to connect the North to the world, and this new daily service is fantastic news for passengers. Addis Ababa is one of Africa’s largest hub airports, offering unrivalled onward connections across the continent. Daily flights mean greater flexibility for those visiting friends and family, conducting business, or exploring incredible destinations like Cape Town, Zanzibar, and the Seychelles.”

A350 Comfort & Onward Connectivity

The new daily service will be operated on the Airbus A350, with a short stopover in Geneva or Marseille before continuing to Addis Ababa.

This exciting development strengthens Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to offering seamless, world-class service while reinforcing Manchester Airport’s role as a key gateway to Africa.
