Manchester Airport is set to become the first UK airport outside London to offer a direct connection to Bangkok when Norse Atlantic Airways begins a new service later this year.
The seasonal weekly route will start in November and run through the winter until March 2026, covering Thailandโs peak tourist season. This new connection will complement existing direct flights from Manchester to Phuket, giving travellers two direct options to Thailand from the North of England.
Bangkok remains one of the worldโs most popular destinations, attracting millions of visitors each year with its rich culture, vibrant nightlife, excellent value for money, and its position as a gateway for exploring the wider region.
The new service is part of ongoing growth in Manchester Airportโs long-haul network, with recent milestones including the launch of the Northโs only direct service to Mumbai.
As the airportโs ยฃ1.3 billion transformation programme nears completion, the new Terminal 2 is already welcoming passengers in award-winning surroundings. Designed to handle around 70% of the airportโs passengers when fully open, it aims to offer a world-class experience for travellers.
This new direct route to Bangkok means travellers from across the North can look forward to seamless connections to one of Asiaโs most exciting cities without the need for a layover โ making it even easier to plan an unforgettable trip to Thailand.
Kevin Says:
I personally would prefer to fly with a more comfortable airline indirect, but appreciate that some people just want the convenience of direct so this is great news. Also, bear in mind they only fly once a week so schedules arenโt too flexible. TUI also have a winter Service direct from Manchester to Phuket.
