Travel to Thailand is finally going to be relatively hassle free. Since the start of the pandemic, popular holiday destination Thailand has had strict rules, involving quarantine. The rules have changed many times, leaving travellers confused or put off from travelling.
The most recent process was relatively easy, it involved applying for a “Thailand pass” and then one night in a hotel to be tested, as part of the “test and go scheme” – but it didn’t result in a return to pre-pandemic much needed tourist figures.
From 01 May – travel to Thailand will be much easier. Vaccinated travellers wil no longer have to do a PCR test either BEFORE or AFTER travel.
There is still a requirement to apply for a “Thailand Pass”. In order to obtain this you need to provide evidence of.
- Covid Vaccine Certificate
- An Insurance policy that covers you for at least $10000 (including covid cover)
All of the previous requirements to stay one night in a pre-approved hotel will be dropped from 01st May.
You can apply for your Thailand Pass here.
Application for the Thailand pass is completely free of charge – and providing you have the 2 documents submitted above, it is guaranteed to be approved.
You can apply for entry from 01st May with the new rules from 29th April onward.
