UK passport holders can visit Thailand without a visa, under a Visa Exempt program.
Over the past year, Thailand extended the maximum days allowed to stay whilst visiting without a visa to 45 days (from 30 days).
As of 01 April 2023, reports are saying that visitors are once again being given 30 days, rather than 45.
The extra 15 days were put in place to boost tourism due to the negative effects of covid. Thailand’s tourism industry has bounced back quicker than anticipated, with over 2.1 million visitors arriving each month.
UK passport holders wanting to stay more than 30 days in Thailand, are now best to obtain a 60 day tourist visa online.
Both the 30 day Visa Exempt and the 60 day tourist visa can be extended at Thai immigration officers for a further 30 days.
