British Airways now offers flights between London Heathrow and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen. The inaugural flight took place on June 1, 2023.
The route operates four times a week using A320 and A321 aircraft. Sabiha Gökçen Airport has expanded its network by adding London Heathrow, Rhodes, and Mytilene as destinations. The airport serves 154 destinations across 51 countries through various airlines.
To honor Sabiha Gökçen, the first female fighter pilot, British Airways had an all-female flight crew for the inaugural flight. Elisabeth Ruff, British Airways’ Head of Corporate Sales in Europe, expressed excitement about the increased connectivity between Istanbul and London. Berk Albayrak, CEO of Sabiha Gökçen Airport, believes the addition of British Airways’ route will enhance the travel experience for passengers.
British Airways customers can choose from a wide range of domestic and international flights, and the airline is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
