There are rumours circulating the travel industry that Chilimix holidays are soon to go into liquidation. Their website has been down for some days and we have sources that claim that their contract with PTS (their financial protection provider, similar to ATOL), has ended.
Chilimix Holidays specialised in LGBTQ+ safe holidays – a unique product in the UK, but it would appear that the launch of such a product has not been successful.
Chilimix outsourced their call centre and bookings to Travel Solutions Network.
We suspect that booking volumes are very low and there will not be too many travellers affected by this, should it arise that they have in fact gone into liquidation.
The tour operator worked hard to get their product in front of travel agents, as well as accepting direct bookings serviced by Travel Solutions Network.
Speaking to LGBTQ+ travellers about whether they would book with a tour operator exclusive to this product, many said in 2023 they do not feel the need to and are happy to do their own research into the suitability of hotels and destinations.
If you have a booking with Chilimix, nothing has been announced yet that they have gone under – but your money is financially protected if they have.
Their facebook page hasn’t been updated since 28 January.
