Background
Due to recent warm weather, some areas of the Rhine River are experiencing low water levels, making certain sections difficult to navigate. As a result, we’ve had to make adjustments to the current Rhine Explorer sailing on TUI Isla, which departed on 8th April. Guests onboard have been informed of the changes directly.
Upcoming Sailings
This situation will also affect the next scheduled Rhine Explorer 2 cruise on TUI Isla, departing 15th April, as the ship will not be able to sail to Basel for guest embarkation. All affected customers have been contacted via email, and our contact centre team is reaching out to discuss options. Customers can choose to continue with their cruise or amend to an alternative holiday with no admin fees.
We are monitoring the water levels closely and will continue to assess the impact on a sailing-by-sailing basis to ensure we’re working with the latest information.
FAQs
I’ve seen that the TUI Isla itinerary is affected. I’m due to sail soon – will my cruise be impacted?
We’re keeping a close eye on the situation as it can change at any time. If there are any updates to your itinerary, we’ll contact you directly.
I’m booked on TUI Skyla or TUI Maya – is my cruise affected?
No. Both TUI Maya and TUI Skyla are currently sailing on the Danube, and all itineraries here are operating as normal.
Can I amend or cancel my future cruise?
At this time, we’re planning to operate all future cruises as scheduled, and standard booking conditions apply. Should anything change, we will contact you directly.
What if my itinerary changes while I’m already on the cruise?
We aim to operate your planned itinerary wherever possible. If adjustments are necessary, we’ll keep them as close to the original as we can. Alternative ports and experiences will be arranged based on berth availability and navigable routes. Your onboard Cruise Experience Managers will keep you updated and support you throughout.
