Thailand to Launch Mandatory Digital Arrival Card for Tourists

Starting 1 May 2025, all foreign visitors to Thailand will be required to complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering the country, as part of a nationwide push to modernise immigration procedures.

The TDAC is a free, mandatory form that must be completed at least three days prior to arrival in Thailand. It will replace the traditional paper-based arrival card previously filled out during flights or upon arrival.

The online system opens on 28 April for those arriving on or after 1 May. Once completed, travellers will receive a confirmation email or document, which can be presented at Thai immigration either digitally on a mobile device or as a printed copy.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the TDAC is part of the government’s wider digital transformation initiative, aimed at streamlining the immigration process, reducing administrative burden, and enhancing overall traveller convenience. The process is being overseen by the Immigration Bureau of Thailand.

The UK Foreign Office has updated its travel advice to reflect the change and advises all UK travellers to complete the form within the required timeframe to avoid any delays or entry issues upon arrival.

Travellers are encouraged to keep their confirmation easily accessible for inspection at immigration checkpoints.

More information and access to the form will be available on the official Thailand Immigration Bureau and Tourism Authority of Thailand websites in the coming weeks.
